City Locations (Wheel n Hub)

Post  Admin on Thu May 06, 2010 11:28 am

Once you have a city you need to think about where to place the next one.
One way is to use Wheel n Hub.
Hub of Wheel is your first (main city) around this you build rest of your "Rim" cities about 5miles from Hub.
Your Hub should be about 10miles from your nearest allies Rim cities.
This is just about my favourite alliance formation.

City Locations (Clusters)

Post  Admin on Thu May 06, 2010 11:37 am

Wheel n Hub are not only choice very popular is Clustering.
Ideal way to Cluster is to build cities as close to each other as possible.
Downside of this method is sharing resource valleys one way to avoid this being to much of a problem is only to have your own cities in yoru cluster.
Allies should not Cluster to closely but should space Clusters 5-10miles apart.

City Locations (Straddle)

Post  Admin on Thu May 06, 2010 11:38 am

Another popular way to locate cities is the Straddle.
For this to work you Must be on a border between two states.
You simply place your cities as close to both sides of border spacing them about 5miles apart.
Allies can space themselves 5-10 miles away on either/or both sides of border.

City Locations (Border Guards)

Post  Admin on Thu May 06, 2010 11:44 am

This is a combined startegy thats uses previous methods with a twist.
Wheel n Hub: Weaker members are placed near Hub of a wheel that has stronger allied members on Rim. Good method for all allliance as you can push outward from wheel Rim expanding wheel size when ready.
Cluster: Weaker members Cluster next to stronger members.Best method for small allainces.
Straddle: Only stronger members Straddle weaker members stay within borders of one state. Best used by large alliances with sis allainces.
